Erik má v garáži neporiadok, ale dokáže si tam oddýchnuť. Je mediálny umelec a 3D animátor, no k tomu prvému sa nerád priznáva. V minulosti vymýšľal komplikované hi-tech projekty a bojoval s ich chybami, dnes sa uspokojí s vecami takými, aké sú.

Erik, samozrejme, žiadnu garáž nemá. Je to metafora pre miesto, kde sa môže skryť a uzavrieť do vlastného sveta. Dielňa s nepotrebnými vecami, ktoré človek ešte niekedy určite využije. Môže tam ležať napríklad niekoľko desiatok pokazených neóniek. Keď nefunguje jedna neónka, lezie to na nervy a je treba sa jej rýchlo zbaviť. Spektakulárne prostredie z množstva neuroticky blikajúcich neónových trubíc je však o niečom inom. Štartéry sa zo všetkých síl snažia, no znovu a znovu sa im nedarí a trubice zhasínajú. Čo sa dá tiež pochopiť ako metafora, napríklad pre neúspešné umelecké pokusy alebo celý životný príbeh. Otázka sebareflexie Erika Bartoša zostáva otvorená. A nakoniec, práve inštalácia Analógový zen môže znamenať zmierenie. Akceptáciu reálneho stavu vecí a udalostí. Po rokoch zápasu s problémami digitálnych technológií využíva Bartoš jednoduchú analógovú chybu bežného predmetu, a z tejto chyby ťaží maximum. Výsledok stojí za to. Erik Bartoš (1984) je absolvent ateliéru Michala Murina na Akadémii umení v Banskej Bystrici. Vo svojej tvorbe využíva prvok interaktivity, modeluje v 3D, pracuje s animáciou alebo senzorickými systémami. Jeho diela sú veľmi jednoduché, no zároveň dokážu vyjadriť univerzálne životné problémy, prírodné zákony a všehomíro.

There is a mess in Erik Bartoš’ garage yet it is a place where he can relax. He is a media artist and a 3D animator but the first he hates to admit. He used to invent complicated hi-tech projects in the past and fought with their problems, today he is satisfied with things as they are.
Of course, Erik has no garage. It is a metaphor for a place where he can hide in his own world. A workshop with unnecessary things that one will certainly use one day. Fox example, it could be several dozens of broken neon lights. It is annoying when a neon tube stops working and one needs to get rid of it quickly. However, a spectacular environment consisting of many tubes, neurotically flashing, is another story. Starters keep trying hard, but their attempts to turn on the tubes fail repeatedly. That can also be understood as a metaphor for unsuccessful artistic attempts or a whole life story. The question of Erik’s introspection in this work remains open. Finally, the installation Analog Zen could be understood as a reconciliation. An acceptance of the real state of things and events. After long years of a struggle with digital technology and its challenges, Bartoš uses simple analog error of an everyday object. The result is worth it. Come to relax in his garage, too.
Erik Bartoš (1984) graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Banská Bystrica at the studio of Michal Murin. In his work, he uses the element of interactivity, 3D modelling, he works with animation and sensoric systems. His works are simple but they can express universal life challenges, natural laws and universum at the same time.
