Dvojdňová výstavná akcia Intermarium v galérii Plusmínusnula predstavuje tretiu epizódu projektu, ktorý sa zaoberá identitou a špecifickosťou regiónu Strednej Európy.

Predchádzajúce časti projektu sa odohrali v galérii Futura v Prahe a v galérii Chimera-Project v Budapešti. Každá výstava predstavovala odlišné aspekty regiónu: výstava vo Future naznačovala všeobecnú víziu Strednej Európy v prácach českých, maďarských, poľských a slovenských umelcov, výstava v galérii Chimera-Project bola zameraná na fungovanie umelcov v kolaboratívnych skupinách. Slovenská časť projektu bude rozdelená do dvoch častí. Prvú bude tvoriť prezentácia videí z výstav vo Future a v Chimera-Project, ktoré budú doplnené o kurátorským komentárom. Druhá časť bude striktne interaktívna. Počas dvoch dní budú mať diváci príležitosť vytvoriť kybernetické Intermarium, prostredníctvom hrania strategickej počítačovej hry. Základom tejto časti výstavy v galérii Plusmínusnula bude hra simulujúca obdobie Strednej Európy od 16. po 18. storočie. Realitu simulovanú tvorcami a programátormi je možné považovať za jednu z mnohých fantastických vízií regiónu Strednej Európy. Tie ovplyvňujú vnímanie regiónu a jeho histórie, aj napriek tomu, že ide o alternatívnu ríšu asimilovanú populárnou kultúrou.

The show Intermarium at Plusmínusnula gallery is the third episode of Intermarium project which focus on identity and specificity of Central Europe. The previous parts of the project took place at Futura Gallery in Prague and Chimera-Project Gallery in Budapest. Both of them elaborated on different aspects of the region: the exhibition at Futura evoked a general vision of Central Europe which appears in works of Czech, Hungarian, Polish and Slovakian artists, the show at Chimera-Project aimed at functioning of artists from the region collaborating in groups. The Slovakian episode of the project will be divided into two events. The first one will be a presentation of videos that were displayed at the exhibitions in Prague and Futura and it will be followed by curators’ speeches. The other one will have a strictly interactive character. Throughout two days viewers will have an opportunity to create a cybernetic Intermarium while playing a strategy computer game. The base for this part of the show at Plusminusnula gallery is a game simulating Central Europe from the 16th to 18th century. The reality simulated in this game by its creators and programmers is considered to be one of various phantasms that relate to the region. However in this case we are talking about alternative realm that was assimilated by popular culture thus it still has a relevant impact on an image of the region and its history.
