Príkladom sú boti (roboti), ktorí vystupujú (prechádzajú virtuálnym priestorom) ako ľudia a úspešne deformujú verejný diskurz online.

Umelkyňa Olga Pedan predstaví časť svojho výskumu, na ktorom pracovala počas trojmesačnej rezidencie v rámci projektu K.A.I.R. (Košice Artist in Residence). Venovať sa bude stratégiám a technológiám, ktoré sa v súčasnosti využívajú na propagandu v online priestore a platformám slúžiacim na masovú politickú manipuláciu. Táto manipulácia sa vo veľkej miere opiera o rozdiel medzi našim chápaním identity “v reálnom živote” a na internete. Tieto problémy úzko súvisia s rámcom projektu “Dáta: Demokracia” a našou aktuálnou výstavou Globálna kontrola a cenzúra tým, ako ovplyvňujú náš súkromný život, ale aj naše spoločenské a demokratické štruktúry.
Olga Pedan (nar. 1988, Charkov, Ukrajina) je švédska umelkyňa žijúca v Nemecku. V roku 2014 absolvovala umeleckú akadémiu Städelschule vo Frankfurte nad Mohanom. Vo svojej tvorbe sa venuje rôznorodým médiám, od maľby cez výrobu kostýmov až po inštalácie, video a fotografiu. Počas trojmesačnej rezidencie v Košiciach Olga pracovala na novom diele skúmajúcom “social bots” v online priestore. Rezidenčný pobyt sa uskutočnil s podporou Goethe-Institut Bratislavaa Creative Industry Košice

Olga Pedan will present some of the research she has been doing for the past 3 months as a resident at K.A.I.R. in Kosice. She will talk about technologies and strategies currently used in propaganda on the internet. Recently the usage of online platforms for mass scale political manipulation has come into sharper focus. This manipulation largely relies on a gap between our understanding of identity “IRL” (“in real life”) and on the internet, for instance with bots passing as humans and successfully distorting public discourse online. These issues
relate closely to the framework of Data:Democracy project and our current exhibition Global Control and Censorship in how they affect our private lives as well as our societal and democratic structures.
Olga Pedan (1988, Kharkov, Ukraine) is a Swedish artist based in Germany. She graduated in 2014 from the art academy Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. Her work spans various media, ranging from painting and costume making to installation, video, and photography. She is currently on a three month residency in Košice, where she has been developing new work that combines her interest in performance and video with research on ‘social bots’ in online networks. The residency is supported by Goethe-Institut in Bratislava and Creative Industry Košice.
